K&N Air filters

These babies are the best air filter system designed for use on racing and expedition cars. They are made of cotton with mesh and never wear out. Simply wipe them off or wash them out with soapy water (no solvants). Filters way better than paper or oil bath filters.

Filter effect relies on an slight cover of special oil on the cotton (that light red color). Greater air flow than any paper or oil filter even if completely dirty. And at the end of a hard day just wipe off the sand or grat off the hardened mud. Even shields off an certain amount of water- does not self-destruct if wet. However does not replace an snorkel. Coated steel mesh that hold the cotton up is not undefinitely water resistant. Make sure the filter can dry.

This quality has it's price. Different models available for almost any application except the giant size filter used on some 90 V-8's. Although they are still in some price lists they aren't available any more. Be also prepared to alter your mixture on carburated or EFI-engines as these filters allow so much more air to stream through.
