Power to the Diesel

Tired of your TDI or BMW-engined cars power output?

Could be that little more? Or even a lot?

Ever fancied the idea of putting an 3.5V-8 inside?

That was exactly what happened to us. Towing was always fine but on long uphills it was not satisfying. We got the remedy: The kit mainly consists of a new, very large Intercooler that brings the temperature of the charged air back to where it belongs. Some very careful adjustments to the fuel injection pump must also be made. There is no NEED to adjust the turbo pressure to a higher level but we have done it successfully on more than one rig and it worked out very fine. The engine runs indeed cooler and smoother with the higher boost than with the original setup.

Power with standard turbo pressure will be approx. 130 HP, around 142 with charge pressure rised.

Engine life will not be compromised by this. Although there's more power output the thermal load is reduced. The economy is better- if you run it like a standard TDI. But most people don't- it's just that more fun to drive. Actually it outperforms any carburated standard 3.5V-8. In using the available power economy stays quite similar to standard TDI engines after all.

A run with our 110 and an double axle trailer loaded with an LR 90 showed an astonishing 145 km/h, that's 90,6 MpH. Officially proved and certified (and disapproved but that's another story after all…).

Runs without the trailer but loaded to the legal limit showed an mamimum speed of 160,8 km/h or 100.2 MpH measured by GPS (although on a cold and rainy day). Keep in mind that with this setup you're most likely running on the speed limits of your tires.

Until today no premature engine or power train faillure on any of these kits happened.

This kit takes around 10 working days to arrive at our shop as all Intercoolers are handmade by an specialised company. We strongly recommend to have the installation done by us. Modifications on the air ducts must be carried out. The big trick is to know exactly how to set up the injection pump. A mistake will ruin your engine on the long run. Installation time is around a day. Smog test as imposed by regional laws will not be compromised.

Price varies around 40.000.- Flux installed depending on the working hours. Courtesy car available.

Available and tested on 200 TDI and 300 TDI engines. Test car available for demonstrations.

Also available power upgrades:

Uprated turbo (200 TDI) - better low down torque

Watercooled turbo (200 TDI) - better low down torque and cooler running

Freelander Engine Performance Chip - gives about 25 more horses on the diesel

Freelander brake upgrade

BMW-engined Range Rover 2.5TD chip - 20% better performance without fuel penalty

Discovery special brakes - vented and cross-drilled front discs

Power to the V-8

Who cares for economy when it comes down to raw power? And fun? And here the V-8's are unbeaten if properly set up. We offer second-hand V-8 engines complete with the fuel injection system, ready to bolt in. Prices depend on mileage but you can count on getting a complete 3.9 EFI with decent mileage in the range of 70.000.- to 90.000.- Flux (3.500.-- 4.500.-DM, 2.000.- to 2.600.- US-$).

The 3.9 is more than adequate for the 90/110-range and does not overstress the driveline when driven decently. You can even expect less fuel consumption than from the carburated 3.5.

Larger displacement engines also available:

Brand new short 4.6 HSE engines also available. Short engine around 130.000.-Flux (6.500.-DM, 3.560.-US-$, 5.300.- Can-$). From this engine you can expect 22.5mpg, 272bhp@ 5500 rpm and 302 ft/lb @ 4000 rpm. Put some 3.9 heads and a fuel injection on this and it's ready to bolt in.

All the above prices do not include fitting. You might also want to change your clutch assembly at the same time. Fitting can be arranged at an specialised garage.

We can also supply power parts for standard 3.5's and 3.9's such as oil coolers, camshafts, the very fine K&N air filters with lifetime warranty and such stuff, all brand new.

You can also switch from carbs to EFI. We supply complete takeouts with high pressure pump and computer for around 25.000.- FLux depending on availability and age of the unit. We can also get new replacement computers for your old setup.

If in doubt about your computer we can make an diagnose on 3.9's. Our genuine expensive diagnose computers will tell you immediately if your EFI is faulty.

Special order:

Supercharging for 3.9 and 4.2 engines

5-Liter V-8 normally aspirated EFI engine transformation, gives 330 bhp's.

Freelander 2 Liter Diesel Power cure

ECU upgrade will bring the performance from 95 to 120 Horses. Sounds good, eh? Remember: Your warranty may expire when you mount them. But it makes a hell of a difference in driving. Fitted in minutes once you know what to do.

Price about 20.000.- Flux installed (1.000.- DM, 550.- US-$)

Also available brakes upgrade kit for Freelander.

Anti-Roll-Bars

We supply genuine and aftermarket Anti-Roll or Swaybars even for those not so equipped by the factory. They improve ride and cornering enormously- just trust us. No Discovery should be without a couple and any towing on all Landrovers is greatly improved.

For those models equipped with factory fitting points we can get genuine and aftermarket bars that are a 10-minute bolt-on-job. Others may require some easy fabication and welding to fit genuine bars or, by far the better but also more expensive way, fit complete kits made by famous Warwick-Banks Handling, one of the best and most serious manufacturer in this domain.

Prices vary depending on what you want and if your vehicle has already the fittings in place. Please look under your vehicle and call us then.

Even more than in other domains: You get what you pay for. But even inexpensive kits make a dramatic change to none at all. Offroad capacity is only marginally reduced. If concerned you just have to undo one bolt to regain that amazing wheel travel.

Shock Absorbers

For a limited time we can supply MONROE GAS MAGNUM Shock Absorbers at a price of 2.200.-Flux apiece (110.-DM, 60.- US-$) or a complete set of 4 for 8.000.- (400.- DM, 220.- US-$).

Also in our range are Ironman shocks as well as top-of-the-line Bilsteins. Twin shock mountings available. For those we strongly suggest you take the softest shocks you can find or they will shake your brain out of your ears in slow going rough conditions.
