We supply those well-known air intake snorkels as seen on Camel Trophy vehicles. If you intend to do some serious wading this is a must even more for TDI's as one pint of water in the intake can not only ruin your day but most likely also your engine. And as used replacement TDI's come around 250.000.-Flux (or 1/4 of a brandnew Landrover) this is a bargain. Brings some added power as it takes the cooler, cleaner air in more than 2 meters hight. Additional ram air effect for forward facing intake designs. Normally no cutting required on Defenders as it uses the stock openings in the wings or side.
Prices vary for each type, standard around 10.000.- FLux (500.- DM, 278.- US-$). For Defenders state which window hinge type you use (fold down front window or fixed).
Black powder coated, can be painted, designed for each type specifically, with or without prefilter system. Or galvanised and then plastic coated to prevent internal rust forming.
Supplementary kit available to raise the axle/engine/gearboxes breathers to the top of the snorkel. Highly recommended for deep fording. With this setup all you need is an watertight stereo and some scuba diving equipment.
Soon to be available more stuff for improving V-8 water resistance. On order we can supply army waterproof ignitions. Beware- they cost an arm and a leg- but they are watertight.
