Extra Heavy Duty Quick Disconnect Starter Cables

Made especially to our specifications these starter cables eliminate the whole mess of the job. The kits consist of 2 quick disconnect males with the corresponding female ends. These are built-in in an conveniant easy to reach spot like the door side of the seat base on 90/110's or in the back of Discoveries. Their back end is connected directly to the battery via the same Heavy Duty cables used outside. On the other side we normally use fully isolated massive copper clamps rated for truck use. Standard cable is 25 square mm's in pure copper and extremely flexible pure rubber coating, 50mm's also available, even 70mm's. Standard rating on 25's is 350 Amperes of continuous load- enough to burn out your battery.

We tried these on electric winches- the cables didn't even get warm while the winches burned out.

Prices vary according to cable length and thickness but they aren't really cheap. However these are probably the last cables you'll ever have to buy. Standard length is 7 meters/ 21 feet, longer sizes no problem. From 20 meters/ 60 feet on we recommend using 50 square mm's.

This brings us to a price of 5.500.- FLux for a complete setup in 7 meters lenght/25mm's and with heavy insulated copper clamps (275.- DM, 150.- US-$, 225.- Can-$). Also consider the weight: almost 10 kgs! But very handy as they are so flexible.

Quick disconnects also available separately. Male around 750.-/piece, females around 500.-/piece. Cable costs 140.- FLux a meter in 25 square mm's, 250.- FLux in 50 square mm's and 380.- FLux in 70 square mm's. Remember that you need TWO cables (+ and -), so double that price per meter for the double lines.

We recommend using them with an battery disconnect switch. Heavy Duty bridged unit (to keep the memeory on stereos and phones) around 1.000.- Flux.
